NetStat Agent - a tool for diagnosing network and monitoring network connections
NetStat Agent is a useful utility for diagnosing network and monitoring network connections. Displays all your computer's inbound and outbound connections and lists all open ports, much like the standard Windows netstat command-line utility, but in graphical interface, with protocol statistics, network properties of the local computer. Helps to detect host's activity.

Netstat: displays list of network connections, including the information on open TCP and UDP ports, IP address, and connection states. Also it displays protocol statistics.

Ping: this tool helps to detect computer's or host's activity.

Tracer: allows you to know what hops are being used to route a packet of data from your computer to the end point.

Route: retrieves the interface-to-IP address mapping table and the IP routing table. The IP routing table allows system to detect what IP interface will be used to process request or datagram.

ARP: displays the mapping table: IP-to-physical address.

GNS-3 is a graphical network simulator that allows you to design complex network topologies. You may run simulations, or configure each device, from a simple workstation to a powerful Cisco router.

To allows complete simulations, GNS-3 is based on two existing projects:

• NS-3 , a discrete-event network simulator for Internet systems, targeted primarily for research and educational use.
• Dynamips, an IOS emulator which allows users to run IOS binary images from Cisco Systems.

GNS-3 is an open source product that may be used on multiple platforms, including Windows, Linux, and MacOS X.

Features overview

In the current version (alpha release) which is still under heavy development, GNS-3 works only with Dynamips. The ns-3 simulation mode has not been implemented yet.

Currently supported features:

• Design of high quality network topologies.
• Emulation of Cisco routers.
• Load-balancing on multiple hosts/hypervisors when in emulation mode.
• Topology import and export.
• Image exports (PNG, JPEG, BMP, XPM).
